The recent frosty days are taking a toll, and just the thought of stepping out makes me shiver. On the bright side, the persistent snow is a sight to behold – though I prefer admiring it from the warmth of indoors;) My winter must-haves include a wool sweater, EMU Australia boots, a warm jacket, and of course, skincare products that rescue the skin from the biting cold. Below, I present my reliable face cream, soothing body balm, and a special-purpose product!
My morning skincare routine is kept to a minimum. I dislike layering creams, elixirs, serums, etc., so I stick to one moisturizer after washing my face. For a year and a half now, I've been relying on the Revox SPF 50 cream. I won't elaborate on the importance of using SPF throughout the year, as it's probably evident to everyone. Instead, let me share my subjective opinion. I have combination skin, ruling out overly oily or excessively watery face creams. Revox has a light consistency, and its scent reminds me of custard. It's not overly sweet but rather delicate and quickly fades away – the product becomes imperceptible on the skin after application. A small amount is sufficient to cover the entire face. I appreciate this cream as an ideal base for makeup. Despite frequently changing makeup products, I've never had issues with uneven foundation, even on extremely cold and frosty days. It hasn't irritated or clogged my skin – I rate it very positively in terms of skincare! It's readily available at Hebe, a Polish drugstore chain, and from my observations, it's often on promotion there. I've seen that it can be easily purchased on platforms like Amazon, etc.
While the facial skin is directly exposed to the frost, caring for other body parts is equally important. This year's discovery for me is a balm received as a Christmas gift. It's the regenerating body balm from the Hagi brand, with a scent of spiced orange. This Polish brand specializes in natural body cosmetics. I won't hide that I was a bit hesitant about the scent, as I'm not a huge fan of typical holiday cosmetics with a faint aroma of gingerbread, candies, mulled wine, etc. Just to be clear – I like those scents, but in food;) The Hagi balm is delicately sweet with a noticeable orange scent, tempered by a sharp undertone that complements the fragrance of cosmetics. I mainly use the product in my evening skincare routine, and during the day, I like to moisturize my hands with it. They remain soft, well-cared-for, and not too prone to cracking, even on chilly days when I forget my gloves.
The third indispensable product for me this winter is Cremobaza 30%. It's a urea-based product that works wonders on rough skin areas like knees and elbows. I haven't found a drugstore product yet that moisturizes and regenerates as effectively in such a short time. From what I've seen, there are other versions of Cremobaza, including ones designed for facial skin.
