MOODBOARD: IN THE ASPEN ATMOSPHERE
24/01/16

The inspiration behind this text is the season. Days are usually sunny, but snow practically falls every day, even a few times! Soon, in Poland, the winter holiday season begins, and the destination becomes the mountains. Plans? Skiing, admiring the views from the lift, and in the meantime, relaxation to warm up with winter, hot tea. To immerse myself even more in this atmosphere and daydream to the fullest, I enjoy browsing pictures on Instagram, specifically related to mountain themes - drawing inspiration for outfits, for example, with a warm wool sweater as the main focus :)

I might be a person with an old soul because I particularly love photos in vintage style. When the image is a bit blurry, and the wardrobe of the characters in the photos is different and interesting. Pinterest, but not only, has made me want to create my own mood board. It will involve a bit of fashion, but not only.

Aspen - a meeting point for mountain elegance

Aspen - a place reflecting the mountain lifestyle and luxury. For years, it has been recognized as a symbol of elegance in a natural setting. In the past, Aspen was an oasis for skiing enthusiasts, looking for not only perfect conditions on the slopes but also an exclusive environment. In the '70s, Aspen became a haven for vintage mountain fashion lovers. On the slopes, sophisticated jackets and jumpsuits appeared, and an atmosphere of elegance exceeded the boundaries of mountain peaks. Neon accents, large logos, and hoods adorned skiing outfits, creating an unforgettable image of luxury on the snow. Today, Aspen still exudes the same spirit, combining tradition with modernity. This place is not only for skiers; it's also a center of social life, where exquisite restaurants, boutiques with the latest collections, and exclusive ski resorts create a perfect microcosm of mountain chic. Every corner of the city is soaked in an atmosphere that combines the unmatched charm of nature with luxury and elegance.

Vintage mountain fashion

Diving into the world of vintage mountain fashion, we transport ourselves to the magical period of the '70s, '80s, and '90s – an era that set trends in the world of skiwear. In this era, color was king, and bold neon shades ruled both on and off the slopes. Skiwear from that time not only emanates warmth but also a unique style. It's worth noting that on the runways of those years, unique patterns, geometric figures, and abstract compositions prevailed. Bold color combinations, such as deep green, intense pink, or energetic orange, caught the attention of skiing enthusiasts and beyond. These daring patterns adorned clothing and also introduced an element of art to the ski slopes. Going beyond mere functionality, clothing from those years seemed to be a combination of comfort, lightness, and warmth. Puffy jackets with large zippers and hoods became iconic elements of stylings. Reflecting on that time, it's hard not to notice prominent logos proudly adorning the clothes. These visible signs were like a bold manifesto of brand and style, adding a unique character to each outfit. Although today it may sound like a description of an ultra-kitschy style, vintage mountain fashion from that period not only withstood the test of time but returns with even greater brilliance. The combination of bold colors, unique patterns, and large logos makes skiwear from the '70s, '80s, and '90s exceptional and cherished by many fashion enthusiasts. In the magical world of vintage mountain fashion, certain brands emerge as true icons of those years. Some of the most recognizable ones are The North Face, Patagonia, and Columbia.

Sweater weather

There is nothing more beautiful than a warm and comfortable sweater for winter. Personally, I like simple models, without frills, in an oversized cut. It's a key element of a capsule wardrobe for me, introducing harmony and versatility to everyday stylings. This season, my heart has been captured by beige - a color that exudes elegance and gives every outfit a subtle refinement. Basic sweaters in shades of beige are the foundation for me, allowing experimentation with accessories and accents. In fashion, I always prioritize expressing myself and my passions. This season, my undisputed favorite is sweaters with alpine motifs. These patterns transport me in thought to picturesque mountain resorts, where winter is full of magic and snowy charm.

Winter design in the home

After Christmas, the Christmas tree still decorates my living room for a long time. It provides a lot of warmth, and you can still feel a bit of the holiday atmosphere. I don't give up on small decorations, such as a lit-up miniature tenement still standing on the TV cabinet, and colorful lights in the bedroom. While reviewing winter decorations available in online stores, beautiful napkins with skier motifs caught my eye. During winter family dinners or gatherings with friends, they will present themselves originally under the cutlery. And, of course, let's not forget about candles! They create an atmosphere and fill the apartment with a favorite scent. And when I really want to welcome spring - I opt for the most beautiful decoration, which is live, cut flowers in a vase!
